Not wanting to make any sweeping generalisations, I find it very endearing that they ALL love giant robots and hi-tec gadgets. I'm sure in twenty years time the Metal Gear will be the vehicle of choice stomping along the highways of Japan. So it was with great joy that I saw that the Japanese Prime Minister had decided to bring a talking robot named Asimo to a state dinner with the Czech Republic PM in Prague. I can still only hope that perhaps the next time Prime Minister Koizumi attends a state dinner he'll be challenging President Chirac to a gut-busting speed-eating contest, or maybe we'll see whether he can endure sitting naked in a tank of blood-sucking leeches for longer than Tony Blair, or possibly he'll insist that Helen Clarke dresses up in a revealing latex school girl outfit.
