What's so bad about giving a can opener for a Valentine's Day present anyway?

You should have sent a Teletext Valentine message!!!

I can't. My cable doesn't allow for that. But enough about my cable (fnar fnar).

Anyway, it was a "luxury" can-opener. Sadly not electric. I also gave some vanilla-scented candles, and some heart-shaped choccies.

Starbucketta also gave me: some vanilla-scented candles, and some heart-shaped choccies. And a bottle of Speckled Hen.

(Explanation regarding duplication: We'd both sneaked some last-minute pressies in during separate rushed trips to Tesco... what with all of the recent shenanigans we'd been a bit too rushed. Very funny, though, and the giving couldn't have been any nicer even if we'd been more prepared!)

The thing was that someone at work was taking the piss yesterday, and had said that she "bet that you've got your wife a can-opener for Valentine's Day..."

Erm, yes. I have.

A can opener is better than nothing which is exactly what I got my other half. I am a marked man. Mrs Lyre will strike when I least expect it.
